It is an Incredible Honor to announce that Melissa Perez of Pensacola Florida had her Bridal Portrait chosen to be on this years cover of Pensacola Magazine Weddings 2012 Issue!

When the Executive Editor called to let me know that Melissa’s photo was chosen, she requested for me to ask her to submit a couple of paragraphs about her and her husband and the details of their special day. This write up was featured on Page 8, You can also read what Melissa wrote below.

My husband and I met almost three years ago while vacationing in Miami, FL. The first night I had arrived, my girlfriend and I went out dancing and then we went to one of my favorite pizzerias.  There was not a seat to be found until I heard a voice say “You can sit here”.

It was then that I met the man of my dreams! Hector and I hit it off right from the start and ended up spending our whole vacation together.  I am from New Jersey and he is ironically from New York City. He has been in the Navy stationed in Pensacola, FL.  We did the long distance thing for a few months while I took a few trips to Pensacola to visit until we decided we were ready for a commitment, so this Jersey girl packed her bags and headed south. After I moved to Pensacola, He took me on a surprise vacation to St. Lucia, a Caribbean island I had always dreamed of visiting. On day five of our vacation; we started out with some snorkeling, then lunch, followed by a long hike up a big mountain to capture an awesome picture of the entire island. When we arrived at the top of this gorgeous mountain, Hector proposed to me. I was completely surprised!

We both knew the type of wedding we wanted. It had to be small, intimate, and on the beach.  Since we consider Pensacola Beach to have one of the most pristine beaches in the entire world, we decided it was perfect!

On October 22^nd 2011, my day started off with me and my bridal party at W1 London Salon located in Downtown Pensacola, followed by our beach ceremony across from the Portofino Resort.  Our reception was at the Grand Marlin also located on Pensacola Beach. Our guests stayed at Margaritaville Beach Hotel on Pensacola Beach.  My photographer was Kimberly Petty Photography of Milton, Fl. She truly captured the most amazing pictures ever! My family and friends still talk about them. The event was simple and intimate, everything that my husband and I wanted.  Since our family was from out of state, we were determined to make it an extra special weekend and that we did, mission accomplished!    It was one of the most Magical weekends of my life and I will treasure those moments forever.
